Fran Godwood is inspired by local gardens and old buildings, working mainly in pen and watercolour. She uses a dip pen to pick out the textures of trees and the contrasting shapes of flowers and leaves, and then adds watercolour. Fran also enjoys sketching chickens and geese going about their business.
Fran trained in Graphic Design at St. Martin’s but nowadays concentrates on creating original paintings. Several of her pictures have been taken abroad as memories of the English countryside.
Fran was selected to join the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists in 2018. She is a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society and Cambridge Open Studios.
Since gaining the Curwen certificate in printmaking in 2017, she now creates hand-coloured lino cuts as well as paintings.
