Catherine studied Graphic Design at Newcastle Polytechnic and worked as a graphic designer in Manchester and Reading before becoming a community artist in Middlesbrough.
After returning to drawing and painting she applied to join the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists and was accepted as a member.
Catherine aims to make her painting and drawing an intuitive response to the landscapes and interiors around her, whether it be the views from windows, through doorways, along pathways or a closer observation of plants and flora at different times. She hopes that her work captures something of the essence of these moments.
This approach is reflected in a series of drawings and paintings, made in October and November 2017 as a record of her commute to work from Lavenham to Mildenhall. They are repetitive yet different, long distance and closer roadside studies.
Catherine has exhibited at The Edmund Gallery, Bury St Edmunds; Lavenham Guildhall; The Babylon Gallery, Ely and Cambridge Artworks and She also takes part in Suffolk Open Studios.
