Susanne Taylor

Susanne enjoys all aspects of working with watercolour. She particularly likes the fluidity and unpredictability of the medium. She is fascinated by the number of approaches an artist can take: a quick colour notation can be added to a sketch as an aide memoire, or more considered studies can be made, exploring colour, atmosphere, time and place.

Where possible Susanne liks to work in situ; whether it be painting outdoors in an interesting setting or working from a model, either on a portrait or a life study.

She also works from references that allow her time to move away from mere representation by tentatively exploring mood and abstraction.
