SOCIAL – Fame for a month!
Have you been following our new monthly competition on our ‘Society of East Anglian Watercolourists Members and Friends’ Facebook Group? This is an opportunity for Members and Friends to post a photo of a painting into the group that follows the theme of the month. At the end of the month, a member of the SEAW Committee chooses one of the paintings to be the cover photo for the group.
Since the last newsletter our monthly competitions have had between six and nine entries each. It has been wonderful to see what our artists have painted and posted. We have some wonderful Friends who are producing some very lively and interesting work. Thank you to each and everyone who has taken the time to think about, paint and post a picture following the theme for us all to see and enjoy. And keep entering – fame only lasts for a month and it is never long before a new selection is made!
Winners to lead our group page so far this year have been –
January

Isobelle Evelyn Gladstone with her cheeky fox to lead the page in January for the theme ‘New Year’
February

Susanne Taylor with her depiction of walkers in the snow for the ‘Winter Landscape’ theme
March

Jane Burch and a thoughtful painting of snowdrops in March for the theme ‘Hope’
April

Currently, Barbara Rudnitzky Eacott with her painting of flower pots entered for the theme of ‘Gardens’.
Congratulations to each of these artists, and we hope that all our readers are encouraged to submit entries for the theme for this month which is ‘Trees’. A new selection will be made after 6pm on Friday 30th April.
Please also remember that the page is a great place for all Members and Friends to stay connected. So please pop along, share your news, and post photos of other paintings that you have been working on, whatever the theme. And please do look, like and comment to encourage all those that have posted.
