Our Snowdrop challenge was won by Roger West

Our very first Challenge in our first Friends of the SEAW online membership newsletter! We’re really looking forward to seeing your paintings.

Every quarter we’ll pose a painting challenge and invite you to send us your watercolours on our theme. We’ll be sharing some of your work on our social media channels as the months progress, and at the end, we’ll feature a chosen few in our next newsletter. Our tutorial for the month is on painting Snowdrops – so that’s out theme.

Here are a few reference photos you might like to use if you don’t have any to hand:

How to take part:

Paint a watercolour of snowdrops -any aspect that appeals to you, in your own style. Send us a photograph of your painting by email. Make sure you give us your name and the title of your painting. (If you’ve not completed our Friends information form  accounts, now might be a good time to do that so we can link to your social media account if we share your painting on our feed).

One of submitting Friends of the SEAW will receive Vandy Massey’s demonstration painting as a bonus, in addition to being showcased.

Have a look our tutorial on painting snowdrops if you’d like some ideas to get you started.

Deadline for this challenge is Friday 15th March. But don’t wait, start sending your paintings in now so we can start sharing them.

Happy painting.
