Tony White is a painter and printmaker based in Newport, Essex. Tony is a past Chairman of SEAW, a trustee of the Fry Art Gallery and a former trustee and committee member of the Saffron Walden Arts Trust.
Tony’s watercolour paintings typically use layered bodies of pure colour and is often based on the memories or sensations of travel or of music and also frequently come back to images which feature celestial elements.
Tony has staged successful solo exhibitions and participated in many mixed shows, has had work commissioned for, and featured on, book and magazine covers, corporate brochures, exhibition stands and communication materials. Tony’s work has been selected in open competitions, is in private collections in the UK, Europe, U.S.A., Canada and Australia. Tony has a watercolour in the collection of the Paper and Watermark Museum, Fabriano, Italy and has exhibited at the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) open selected exhibition at the Bankside Gallery in London. Tony also holds a certificate in Advanced Printmaking Techniques from the Curwen Print Study Centre.
