Large Pebble on Cromer Beach
I was caravanning in Cromer during August and went for a solitary walk along the beach. I came across this large pebble which had been battered and eroded by the sea. It revealed a variety of colours and textures as well as a hole. I lay down on the sand and sketched the large pebble as I could see the sea and sky through the hole. I wanted to depict the structure and geology of the pebble, the beautiful orange splatters of organic material and the rich textures both inside and out.
