Corfe Castle through the blossom
This was the view from the carpark at Corfe Castle on a showery weekend visit to the Dorset coast. It was overcast and grey and had been raining when we arrived. However the zingy pink blossom in the foreground and the lime green of the emerging leaves, through which we viewed the castle ruins, lifted the spirits. I tried to capture that feeling when painting in the early stages of lockdown this year.
