Wendy Kimberley BEM 

Wendy is a figurative painter from Norfolk. Her love of nature and our intimate relationship with the environment is often reflected in her paintings filled with a deference for the natural world. Wendy paints mainly in water-based mediums including traditional egg tempera. She has won awards for her artworks, has a painting included in the Late HM Queen Elizabeth’s private art collection and exhibited with society of British artists at Mall galleries.

Wendy was honored to be named in HM Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee in 2022 for the 60 plus portraits she completed for NHS Heroes during the Covid Pandemic whilst also working as a nurse in the community.

Artist statement

“Painting and creativity are an essential part of who I am, I can’t remember a time when I didn’t make art. During my nurse training I used it as a way to de-stress and enhance my focus. I believe that both observing and creating art has the ability to improve our physical and mental health.

In my landscapes I like to paint scenes that capture and explore our relationship with nature over time and how we are all connected. In my portraits I want to capture the essence of that person and sense of a shared emotion to connect to the viewer “
