Lesley Rumble

Lesley studied Graphic Design at Maidstone College of Art, and at Brighton gained her teaching qualification. All her working life has been in education, initially as a college technician, then a general class teacher and secondary school art teacher before working in community education, mostly with adults.

The last few years have allowed time for more personal work and to exhibit and sell paintings with the SEAW and the Cambridge District Art Circle. Lesley was fortunate to have a painting chosen to be exhibited at the 2015 open exhibition at the Bankside Galleries in London. In that year she also joined Cambridge Open Studios, which in itself was a very rewarding, although exhausting, experience. Lesley shares studio space with a group of artists in Cambridge, although the space is not large enough for teaching, so she holds her classes elsewhere.

Artist’s Statement

I never cease to wonder at the unpredictable beauty of watercolour paints, and enjoy experimenting with colours and papers. I have taught adults in the Cambridge area for over twenty years and happily pass on my discoveries. Over the years I have acquired more painting skills from excellent and varied workshop tutors.
