I have drawn and painted for as long as I can remember, and had excellent professional tuition over many years whilst working and bringing up a family, and beyond.
As well as being a Member of the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists, I am also a Member of the Ipswich Art Society and the Suffolk Art Society, exhibiting frequently with them. Have had solo and shared exhibitions in various galleries, mainly in Suffolk..
I am enjoying portrait drawing and painting with About Face. We meet twice a month for five hour sessions at Stutton, and I am learning a great deal through doing this.
My favourite subjects to paint are landscapes, river and seascapes, old interesting and characterful buildings, as well as street scenes.
I love the visual softness of the countryside throughout the seasons, and the ruggedness of rock formations. Am also intrigued by the architecture of many buildings, and on occasions, work for hours, putting down on paper the intricacies of a building’s design, be it a cathedral or a barn interior or whatever.
Over the years I have had quite a number of successful commissions.
