I studied Graphic Design at Newcastle Polytechnic and worked as a graphic designer in Manchester and Reading before becoming a community artist in Middlesbrough. I have recently returned to drawing and painting and this is my first year with the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists. I also exhibit with Echo Arts and Suffolk Open Studios.
I aim to make my painting and drawing an intuitive response to the landscapes and interiors around me, whether it be the views from windows, through doorways, along pathways or a closer observation of plants and flora at different times. I hope that my work captures something of the essence of these moments.
Drawings and paintings, made in October and November 2017, are a record of my commute to work from Lavenham to Mildenhall.
They are repetitive yet different, long distance and closer roadside studies.
I have exhibited at The Edmund Gallery Bury St Edmunds, Lavenham Guildhall, The Babylon Gallery Ely and Cambridge Artworks and I also take part in Suffolk Open Studios.
