Merrie Curtis-Fuller’s portrait of Simon James was the winner of the Rosemary’s Brushes Award in 2014. This workshops provides an opportunity to work with an artist who has a well-earned reputation for portraiture. Merrie’s workshop will refine and strengthen the students’ ability to select and record what’s essential to the artist when painting a portrait.
During the day we will be working from the model to explore structure, likeness, picture construction, proportion and drawing and painting techniques. These areas will be addressed and explored as a group and through one to one guidance in a relaxed and friendly manner.
Coffee and Tea will be provided. Attendees are advised to bring lunch. A materials list will be provided closer to the event. Parking is available in the grounds.
Non-members welcome. (For £10 you could become a Friends of the SEAW. Friends of the SEAW are eligible to book ALL SEAW workshop places at the member rate.)
